Pope John Paul II Award – Clogher Diocese

Role of the Parish Award Leader

 

Many parishes in the diocese require people to assist young people completing the Pope John Paul II Award. This role will bear much fruit for the parish with young people actively participating in the liturgy and the life of the community. A list of duties are outlined below.

  • Launch the Pope John Paul II Award in your parish
  • Enroll young people on the Pope John Paul II Award and forward applications and fee to Clogher don Óige
  • Develop opportunities for young people to carry out parish and social awareness activities.
  • Meet with and facilitate young people to complete parish involvement activities and social awareness activities.
  • Liaise with Clogher don Óige regarding those enrolled on the John Paul II award in your parish.
  • Monitor and record the involvement of young people in parish activities and / or social awareness activities.
  • Promote in conjunction with the priest the Pope John Paul II award in the community and the role of young people in the parish.

Pope John Paul II Award Leader Training Evenings Autumn 2010

As we get ready to launch into the second year of the Pope John Paul II Award training evenings have been organised throughout the diocese in preparation for parish and school launches.

 

1. Monday 4th October in Carrickmacross Workhose at 7.30pm

2. Monday 11th October in St. Michael's College, Enniskillen at 7.30pm

3. Monday 18th October in St. Macartan's College, Enniskillen at 7.30pm

Award leaders need only attend one of these training evenings. If you have any questions about the role of the award leader and are considering taking on the role in your parish please contact Matthew by email or phone.

 

It is important that award leaders attend these training events.

Pope John Paul II Award September 2010 update

Pope John Paul II Award Update

The closing date for participants to complete the Pope John Paul II Award is Thursday 30 September.  Completed record cards, and presentations must be submitted to the Clogher don Óige office on or before this date.  The Pope John Paul II training team recently met with Award Leaders and they will be meeting with participants to ensure that remaining activities and presentations are completed.  For those of you are in parishes with no support please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Pope John Paul II Award Information Evening

 

 

A Pope John Paul II Award Information Evening has been organised for parishes in South Monaghan. It Takes place on Tuesday 24th August in Carrickmacross Workhouse at 7.30pm. The Evening consists of a presentation about the Pope John Paul II Award and a question and answer session.  The evening is primarily for people who are interested in taking on the role of parish award leader. If you would be interested in this or would like to know more contact your local priest who will book a place for you.

Two training evenings for Pope John Paul II Parish Award Leaders will take place on the following dates

Monday 23rd August in St. Macartan's College, Monaghan at 7.30pm

Thursday 26th August in St. Michael's College, Enniskillen at 7.30pm

N.B. Parish award leaders only need to attend one training evening.
