New Bishop of Clogher Liam MacDaid ordained
It was a day of celebration yesterday (Sunday 25th July) as the new Bishop of Clogher, Liam MacDaid was ordained at St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan.

Among the honoured guests at the ceremony were Taoiseach Brian Cowen, Tánaiste Mary Coughlan, Capt. Niamh O’Mahoney, the presidents aide-de camp and His Excellency Archbishop Leanza, Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland. Also represented were public representatives from across the political divide as well as the GAA, other sporting bodies, An Garda Siochana and PSNI.

Principal Consecrator at the Ordination Mass was the Primate of All Ireland Cardinal Sean Brady, assisted by Bishop Joseph Duffy, Bishop emeritus of Clogher; and Bishop Noel Treanor, Bishop of Down and Connor, a native of the Diocese of Clogher.
