Haiti Earthquake and the Pope John Paul II Award
Many of us have been deeply touched and saddened by the consequences of the recent earthquake in Haiti. It is impossible to imagine the pain and suffering the people are going through in Haiti at the minute. Quite often we feel powerless to help those as we are so far away.
The Pope John Paul II Award calls young people to charitable work to help those who are less fortunate than us like the people of Haiti. I would encourage young people participating in the award to organise, get involved, fundraise and raise awareness of the terrible situation in Haiti. Such activities and projects can be used towards social awareness hours for those participating in the Award.

The theme of Lourdes 2010 is '..with Bernadette, making the Sign of the Cross..'
Clogher don Óige will be travelling to Lourdes as part of the Diocesan Pilgrimage on the 6th - 11th July 2010. Young people will get the opportunity to assist the sick and infirmed pilgrims. Last year was the first year that the diocese ha taken a youth group to Lourdes and the group proved to be a big hit with the assisted pilgrims and the other pilgrims.Going to Lourdes is a great opportunity for any young person - helping sick pilgrims, experiencing Lourdes and meeting many new friends.
